KIM CHURCHILL

Kim Churchill got her start mountain biking when a former employer in Montana told her if she wanted to fit in she was going to have to buy a mountain bike. On her first downhill ride she promptly went over the handlebar. Despite the rough introduction to the sport, she kept at it and over the years mountain biking has become her passion, a passion shared with her father.

For many years Kim and her dad would travel to Moab, Utah annually for Outerbike, the best bike demo event in the universe. In addition to the multiple Moab trips, they’ve done annual “father-daughter” bike trips to various mountain bike destinations like Bentonville, Pisgah/Dupont, Copper Harbor, and Snowshoe. For 2023, the trip was to an Outerbike event in Killington, Vermont. It was here that Kim was introduced to the Jamis Hardline. She fell in love with the Hardline and didn’t want to give it back, begging the Jamis crew to keep it “just a little longer”. She said the Hardline, along with an escort from fellow Jamis Ambassador Lawton Denis, gave her the confidence to tackle Goat Skull and Cable Drop in addition to double black diamond trails. She was able to ride trails and features she’s never had the confidence or courage to try before thanks to the Hardline.

Kim likes to consider herself “a solid intermediate” rider and is excited to see how far she can progress on the confidence-inducing Hardline. You’ll find her locally riding the trails around Metro Detroit and won’t miss her or the colorful accents she’s added to her Hardline. She’s a sucker for all things oil slick/sheen, iridescent, shiny, or sparkling and with the gorgeous orange of the Hardline C2, she’s definitely hard to miss. If you see her give her a shout, she’ll probably insist you take her Hardline out for a spin.
