We use powerful, state of the art, composite manufacturing software to analyze and perfect our layup
schedule. The result is optimized layup for optimal
stiffness, greater durability and lighter weight.
Ultra-high modulus carbon fiber is perfectly suited
for the high strength, high stiffness, low weight
demands of professional racing. Problem is, it’s
not extraordinarily impact resistant. That’s why we
specify a resin binder that’s improves impact resistance on our ultra-high modulus SL & Team frames
by up to 40%.
Chainstay design is critical for the efficient transfer of
power from pedal to wheel. But simply beefing up
the entire area to prevent frame flex under pedaling
torque can yield unnecessary weight gain and stiffness. The Xenith chainstay design maximizes stiffness while minimizing weight through asymmetrical
design - the driveside chainstay is 10% larger and
30% stiffer to offset drivetrain induced flex.
