We re-engineered the SL and Team carbon monocoque frames with higher modulus fiber and new manufacturing methods making them even lighter than last year. Fully finished SL frames in some sizes weigh in as light as 850 grams. And we’ve stiffened the critical bottom bracket/chainstay area for serious kick when you surge on the pedals. The new-for-’08 Xenith SL spares nothing, with the best selection of race-level parts we could find.

We dropped every gram possible, thanks to tricks like carbon dropouts and finishing the frame and fork with only a thin, ultralight protective clearcoat. With Pro-circuit race-tested geometry, the Xenith’s handling is uncanny, letting you scorch corners in criteriums or make up time on twisty descents. You’ll have near-perfect weight distribution for cornering with a slick aero posture that puts you in a power position over the pedals for solo attacks or fast training rides.

Upgrade
Same frame platform/layup as Xenith Team, but with every possible gram shaved by using minimal paint
SRAM new Superlight RED group with KMC SL chain
Zipp 404 Carbon tubulars with Vittoria Cora Evo CX tubular tires
FSA K-Force Lite Hollow Carbon crank with Ceramic Bearing BB
Full Easton EA/EC90 cockpit including EC90 carbon seatpost
Selle San Marco Aspide Saddle with Ti rails, 165g!

The handmade Xenith SL gets even lighter this year with some sizes coming in under 850g!! And that’s with paint and decal!! Constructed using the latest monocoque construction technology utilizing the highest strength/modulus carbon fiber with increased stiffness in the BB/Chainstay area.
Jamis designed, full carbon monocoque fork with carbon dropout and internal muscle shaping to dramatically increase vertical stiffness and provide secure handling characteristics. Even lighter this year at 320g, You might find something lighter, but it won’t ride like this!
Tri-Oval differential tubing diameters support larger riders without punishing smaller ones
Seatstays run full length from dropout to seat tube increasing lateral stiffness while offering greater vertical compliance than standard larger diameter monostays
Forged one-piece dropouts, with replaceable hanger, offer greater strength and relaibility than the standard bolted & glued dropouts used on most other frames
Asymmetrical muscle-shaped chainstays with driveside chainstay 10% larger than non-driveside chainstay yielding 30% more volume & stiffness to offset the high loads of sprinting torque
Clamp on front derailleur instead of riveted braze-on type spreads shifting forces around the tube instead of localizing them at one point
Seat tube/clamp area has double cut slot with a 2-bolt 7075 seat clamp for secure seatpost clamping
Over-sized seat tube/seat post for a more stable seat/pedaling platform
Zipp’s 404 Carbon Tubular wheelset is the choice of UCI Pro Tour’s top riders for all-around aerodynamics and feather-weight performance. Featuring Zipp’s patented dimpled carbon rim, Sapim bladed spokes and Zipp’s 82/182 hubs. They’re completely serviceable too, so you don’t have to send a wheel back or throw one away if something goes awry in the heat of competition
SRAM’s new RED group sets a new standard in performance and light weight
FSA K-Force Lite Carbon crank is the latest in carbon crank technology offering industry-leading weight at 630g and hollow carbon forming technology and Ceramic Bearing BB
KMC’s X10SL chain with Titanium Nitride coating sets a new standard in weight, shifting performance and durability
Vittoria Corsa Evo CX tubular tires, the most popular tire on Pro Tour teams
Selle San Marco Apide saddle at a featherweight 165g offers all day comfort
Easton’s EA90 cockpit is their lightest cockpit for performance, lightweight and security in the all important contact points
Gel infused cork tape for increased comfort with embossed Jamis logo
