For years, steel was the racing standard. And we wrote the book on cross-country steel. These might look like old school rigs, but there’s nothing outdated or outmoded about the way they blaze down the trail. For guys who know how to ride and flow, these bikes are absolute scorchers.

Reynolds 853 and 631 air-hardened steel gives the Dragon’s chassis lightweight strength and an amazingly supple ride. Power up on the pedals and you’ll simply feel…energized. This is a frame that gives as much as it gets, so the harder you push it the better it feels.

Perfect geometry is more than mere lengths and angles. It’s knowing where to place the cable stops for the most frictionless routing, it’s designing dropouts that help shore up the critical seatstay/chainstay junction, it’s knowing precisely how 853 steel stiffens in the weld zone, and using that to advantage when it comes to butting the tubes for ride tuning.

Whether you’re after the no-holds-barred Pro, the race-ready Comp, or want to use the custom-painted 15th anniversary Team frameset as the starting point for your dream bike, one thing is for sure—you’re not just getting the best steel chassis money can buy. You’re getting the benefit of nearly two decades of hard-won, off-road racing know-how. And you can take that to the trailhead.

Reynolds 853 air-hardened chromoly actually gains strength in the weld zone area, instead of losing it like all other welded material, allowing Reynolds to draw this tubing thinner, for a lighter, stiffer frame with outstanding “feel”. Heat treated cro-moly rear stays & investment cast dropouts increase torsional stiffness by 30%
The Reynolds 853 tubing actually undergoes an additional heat treatment process, than does 631, imparting greater strength, and allowing Jamis to specify thinner yet tube sets for maximum weight savings & optimized “feel”
Fox’s 32 chassis features increased crown/stanchion overlap & Quad tapered lower legs to optimize strength & stiffness while driving weight out
The new dropout design offers a stronger & more secure fork/wheel/brake integration & interface
Updated Avid Juicy 3 hydraulic disc brakes offer many of the bells & whistles that’s made the Juicy one of the most popular brake on the market, with improved lever to shifter clearance and reversible clamp allowing levers to be run standard or moto
Tri-align caliper positioning for easy adjustment; Power Reserve Geometry for increased power AND modulation; G2 Clean Sweep polygon rotor.
Shimano Deore XT Hollowtech II crankset features a hollow forging for lighter weight with integrated BB increased rigidity & pedaling efficiency
Shimano’s new Deore XT Shadow rear derailleur features a low profile for improved life, quiet; will not contact chainstay, direct routing; reduces risk of snagging and stronger return spring for crisp shifting.
Shimano new Deore XT Rapidfire shifters offer a “2-way” release, allowing the upper lever to be pulled with the forefinger or pushed with the thumb depending upon rider preference, 2 position bracket.
Easton EA50 cockpit parts feature Easton’s proprietary EA50 alloy with taper wall technology, a cold working process that produces multiple tapers to eliminate stress points & dissipate impact energy evenly
WTB Silverado Team features a smooth elongated shell, light weight and superior racer-body fit. The long narrow length allows the rider more pedaling positions and options for set up.
